These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Signal Hunt’s website, web app, and browser extension (collectively, the “Service”). “Signal Hunt”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to the operator of the Service.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Signal Hunt is an AI-driven Reddit business-signal discovery and validation workflow (“extension + web app”). The Service helps you analyze public Reddit sources (including subreddits, search results, and custom feeds) and produce evidence-backed outputs such as reports, “6-Signals” packs, and an “Evidence Pack” that links back to source posts/comments.

The Service may include:

  • Context-aware scanning from inside Reddit (via browser extension).
  • AI-powered analysis of selected discussions using third-party APIs.
  • Clustering, ranking, and scoring of recurring pain points and related signals.
  • Evidence-backed results with quotes and permalinks so you can verify sources.
  • Scan/report history and saved opportunities in the web app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction to enter into a binding contract) to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Accounts and Security

  • You may need an account to use certain features of the Service.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

4. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy at docs/Privacy.md.

5. Your Content and Inputs

5.1 Your inputs

You are responsible for the content you submit to the Service, including any URLs, text, and configuration you provide to initiate scans and analyses (“Inputs”). Do not submit sensitive personal information.

5.2 Public third-party content (Reddit)

The Service may fetch and process public Reddit posts and comments from sources you select. You acknowledge:

  • Reddit is a third-party platform and is not affiliated with Signal Hunt.
  • Reddit’s terms and policies apply to your use of Reddit and may restrict certain uses of content.
  • Outputs may include excerpts and links to public Reddit content for verification.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to, and not to attempt to:

  • Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Use the Service to collect, store, or process sensitive personal information, or to profile individuals in a way that violates privacy laws.
  • Use the Service to harass, threaten, or defame others, or to facilitate wrongdoing.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by bypassing rate limits, scraping in a way that harms third parties, or attempting unauthorized access.
  • Use the Service’s outputs to create spam, unsolicited marketing, or manipulative content.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation.
  • Share account credentials or create multiple accounts to circumvent limits.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service except to the extent permitted by law.
  • Use the Service to build or improve a competing product by systematically extracting outputs at scale.

7. Usage Limits and Fair Use

Your plan (including free tiers, trials, or credit-based usage) may include usage limits such as scan frequency, number of sources analyzed, timeframe selection, or evidence/output limits. You agree to:

  • Respect the limits associated with your plan.
  • Not attempt to circumvent usage restrictions or abuse trial/credit mechanisms.
  • Not use automated tools or scripts to access the Service excessively.

We may throttle, suspend, or terminate access if your use negatively impacts the Service, other users, or third parties.

7. Browser Extension

The browser extension is designed to run in the context of your browsing session. For example, it may read the active tab URL to detect supported Reddit sources and fetch public Reddit content when you initiate a scan.

You are responsible for installing the extension, granting permissions, and using it only on pages and in ways you are authorized to access.

8. Subscriptions, Billing, and Payments

8.1 Plans and billing

Some features require a paid subscription. The Service uses a third-party payment provider (Lemon Squeezy) as merchant-of-record. Payment processing, taxes, invoicing, and subscription management may be handled by that provider.

8.2 Renewals and cancellation

Subscriptions may renew automatically unless canceled. You can manage or cancel your subscription via the billing management flow provided through the Service, which may redirect you to the payment provider’s portal.

8.3 Refunds

Refund requests and disputes are handled according to the payment provider’s policies and applicable law. Unless required by law, fees are non-refundable.

8.4 Changes to plans and pricing

We may change subscription plans, features, or pricing from time to time. When required, we will provide advance notice (for example, by posting changes in the Service or sending an email). Changes apply prospectively.

9. Intellectual Property

Signal Hunt and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in and to the Service, including software, models, designs, branding, and all related intellectual property. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use our trademarks.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your internal business or personal research purposes.

10. Outputs and Disclaimers

The Service generates structured summaries and opportunities from the Inputs you provide. Outputs are provided for informational purposes only and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated.

You are responsible for evaluating outputs and making your own decisions. The Service does not provide legal, financial, or professional advice.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with third-party services (such as authentication providers, email delivery, payment providers, and AI model providers). Your use of third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Signal Hunt is not responsible for third-party services.

12. Third-Party Content and Reddit Data

The Service analyzes publicly available Reddit content from sources you select. Signal Hunt may access Reddit content using public endpoints (including reddit.com JSON endpoints) and does not require your Reddit password. You are responsible for ensuring your use of Reddit content complies with Reddit’s applicable terms and policies.

Signal Hunt does not own Reddit content. We provide excerpts and links for verification, but the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of third-party content is not guaranteed.

12. Termination and Suspension

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, pose a security risk, or create legal exposure. You may stop using the Service at any time.

13. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date indicates when these Terms were last revised. If you continue to use the Service after changes become effective, you agree to the revised Terms.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Signal Hunt will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Signal Hunt’s total liability for all claims arising out of or related to the Service will not exceed the amounts you paid to Signal Hunt for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim (or USD $100 if you have not paid anything).

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Signal Hunt from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your Inputs, or your violation of these Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Signal Hunt is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
